Mouettes - the little yellow boats

Mouettes - the little yellow boats

They take you round the lake - you can use the same ticket for these boats as the TPG buses/trams. They are really handy, cheap and quick.

Tourist trains (red, white, blue)

Tourist trains (red, white, blue)

These little trains are made for tourists, they take you round Geneva giving you information in English and French about each place. The different colours represent different routes. The only down side, you cannot explore these places at your own pace.

Bus stop

Bus stop

This is Bel-Air, a main stop for chopping and changing trams.

Ticket machine

Ticket machine

This little bus stop has the new ticket machine. Either way look for a bright orange machine when you get to a bus stop - this is where you get your tickets. 2.50chf for children up to 16 years old (1hr) 3.50chf for the rest (1hr) The sign next to it is electronic, it tells you when the next bus is coming and how long it would take to get there. Genevan buses/trams are very punctual. It will also tell you if its wheelchair friendly.

Sign

Sign

This is the sign at every bus stop that tells you what the name of the bus stop is and which buses stop there. It will also tell you if you need to stop the bus by demand by sticking your hand out (arret sur demand), no need to do it if it doesn't say to!

Tram

Tram

This is what a tram looks like from the front - you won't necessarily see it from this direction unless you are going to get run over! Be careful its very hard for trams to stop unless its a bus/tram stop. Don't worry I didn't get run over taking this picture its the end of the line so it couldn't go any further than it is now.
